VIDEO SERIES

Did You Know?

In AQI Aquarius, Methods defines how hydrologic data is measured and calculated.

In this video series, Terry Kenney—former USGS Hydrologist and current Hydrologist at Aquatic Informatics—demonstrates how proven methods are applied to time series and field data to improve traceability, consistency, and confidence in your hydrologic data.

The entire series is less than 12 minutes long, each based on a how-to demo.

Aquarius: Methods Measured Time Series

A measured time series in AQI Aquarius is a continuously collected dataset that comes directly from an instrument, sensor, or manual observation source — such as water level (stage), temperature, precipitation, or water quality readings.

Unlike derived time series, which are calculated from other data (for example, discharge derived from stage using a rating curve), measured time series represent the original observed values collected in the field or from telemetry systems.
