Aquatic Informatics Supports Living Donor Employees
VANCOUVER, BC – October 13, 2020 - Aquatic Informatics is proud to announce they have joined a select group of companies to adopt the new Living Donor Circle of Excellence program. The program is a joint initiative of the American Society of Transplantation (AST) and the Canadian Society of Transplantation (CTS). The Circle of Excellence is aimed at ensuring living donors are given the leave required to recover from the surgery and receive salary support by their employers during this period.
Edward Quilty, Founder and President of Aquatic Informatics said, “Living donors are outstanding selfless individuals. At Aquatic Informatics, we recognize the tremendous sacrifice they are making to help save the life of another person and we are committed to supporting them during their recovery period after surgery.”
There are approximately 30,000 kidney and liver transplants in the US and Canada each year, and about 25% are from living donors. The Circle of Excellence will help improve the lives of those living donors, and by reducing financial uncertainty, perhaps it will encourage more people to consider becoming a living donor.
John Gill, President-Elect of the American Society of Transplantation said, “Patients facing life-threatening disease can live normal lives, raise their families and participate in their communities with the gift of a liver or kidney transplant. Aquatic Informatics is not only supporting living donors, but also building stronger communities.”
The Living Donor Circle of Excellence fits in with Aquatic Informatics “3P” core values that balance Planet, People, and Prosperity. These values run through the entire business and can be seen in decision making, employee support, software donations, volunteer work, and commitment to customers.
