Aquatic Informatics has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers for three consecutive years by Mediacorp.
Vancouver, Canada, March 29, 2016 – Aquatic Informatics Inc., a global leader in providing innovative software for water data management and analysis, is pleased to announce it is officially among the nation’s best workplaces for 2016! Aquatic Informatics was named a winner in the third consecutive national competition held by Mediacorp Canada Inc., designed to recognize outstanding small and medium enterprises (SMEs) for their forward-thinking human resource policies.
“We’re thrilled to be recognized for 3 years running by Mediacorp for being one of the best places to work in Canada. Our corporate culture is a top priority,” said Ed Quilty, President and CEO at Aquatic Informatics. “You can see it in the way our employees care about the environment, in the way they care about each other and in the success of our customers. We’re on a quest to host the world’s environmental data, and we value independent thinking, initiative, team play, a relentless pursuit of quality, and a playful spirit.”
We Work with the World’s Best Customers!
“The best thing about working here is our customers. Our team is engaged with innovative water professionals from over 500 organizations globally who monitor the environment to ensure the right information is available to make the best decisions today for the sustainable use and protection of our natural water resources,” said AJ Leitch, Vice President of Customer Success at Aquatic Informatics. “Our customers are working smarter with AQUARIUS, using timely, accurate environmental information to solve complex water resource problems.”
We’re Making a Real Difference!
“Our work makes a real impact. Water is the critical global issue this century. In less than 15 years, it’s predicted that nearly 50% of the world population will be under severe water stress. Demand for water is quickly outpacing supply for safe drinking water, agriculture, sanitation, power, industry, and transportation. Our AQUARIUS solutions turn massive volumes of data into environmental intelligence, helping organizations make better decisions, faster to ensure there is adequate clean water for a secure future,” shared David Ferguson, Vice President of Finance and Marketing.
“We’re also committed to reducing our own footprint at Aquatic Informatics, taking a company-wide approach to a greener future,” continued David. “We’re B Corporation Certified as well as Climate Smart Certified in recognition of our efforts to solve environmental problems. We’re also committed to local green programs, like the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup initiative led by the Vancouver Aquarium and WWF. A group of employees recently filled 14 large trash bags with litter they removed from local shores.”
We Have More Fun!
“Life is a little sweeter and a lot more fun at Aquatic Informatics,” said Que Sengmany, IT Systems Administrator. In addition to keeping IT systems running smoothly, Que regularly brings doughnuts to the office, announcing the treats with a joke in staff inboxes. Que is also an active member of the social committee at Aquatic Informatics, “We need a balance between healthy snacks and doughnuts – we like to call it the yin-yang of food. Approximately 58% of the world’s population spend one-third of their adult life at work, so being an active member of the social club, which we like to call “Life Aquatic,” makes us feel good knowing that we can contribute to the organization with fun activities that everyone and their families can enjoy. It helps to fill the gap between our annual “Summer Hawaiian BBQ” and the “Winter Holiday Party” with continuous fun. The social club has some great ideas for this year, but you’re going to have to come work with us to find out what they are and experience them for yourself!”
